Tarunilakshmi Ventures OPC Pvt Ltd ("we", "our", or "us") operates the DivyaKarya AI Pandit mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and who else sees it.
This policy covers DivyaKarya AI Pandit only. Our other app,
DivyaKarya Panchanga, has a separate policy because it works very differently — Panchanga keeps everything on your device, while AI Pandit requires an account and stores your data on our servers so it follows you between devices.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
The App requires an account. Depending on how you sign in, we receive:
- Email sign-up: your email address and the display name you choose.
- Google Sign-In: your email address, display name and profile photo URL, as provided by Google. We never receive your Google password.
- Guest mode: an anonymous account identifier only, with no email or name. If you later create a full account, your data carries over.
Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google). We do not store your password.
1.2 Birth Details
To cast a chart, the App asks for your name, date of birth, time of birth, place of birth and gender, from which it derives latitude, longitude and timezone. If you use the My Family feature, you may also add the same details for other people.
Please only add another person's birth details with their knowledge. You are responsible for having their permission, and for anyone under 18 in your care.
1.3 Content You Create
- AI Pandit conversations: the questions you ask and the answers you receive.
- Journal entries: any reflections you write in the App.
- Saved people: names and birth details you add under My Family.
1.4 Information Collected Automatically
- Location: with your permission, your device's approximate location, used to compute Panchanga and Hora for where you currently are. You may decline; the App then falls back to your birth place.
- Usage and device data: anonymous analytics (screens opened, features used) and device model / OS version, via Firebase Analytics.
- Crash reports: stack traces and device state at the moment of a crash, via Firebase Crashlytics, so we can fix faults.
- Push token: a device notification identifier, if you enable reminders.
- Subscription status: your purchase and entitlement state, via RevenueCat and Google Play Billing.
1.5 Information We Do Not Collect
- We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details — all payments are handled entirely by Google Play Billing.
- We do not collect your contacts, photos, call logs or SMS.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
2. How Your Data Is Used
- Chart calculation: your birth details are sent to our own servers to compute planetary positions, divisional charts, Dasha periods and transits using the Swiss Ephemeris.
- AI Pandit answers: see section 3 — this involves a third-party AI provider.
- Cross-device continuity: your profile, chart, chat history and journal are stored against your account so they are still there when you sign in on a new phone.
- Subscriptions: to unlock paid features and enforce daily question limits.
- Notifications: to send the daily insights and reminders you have switched on.
- Improving the App: anonymous analytics and crash reports.
3. AI Processing — Please Read
When you ask the AI Pandit a question, we send the following to OpenRouter, a third-party AI routing provider, which forwards it to the language model that generates the answer:
- your question text;
- your name, date of birth, time of birth, place of birth and gender;
- your computed chart (planetary positions, houses, current Dasha).
This context is what lets the answer be about your chart rather than generic astrology. If you would rather this data not leave our systems, please do not use the AI Pandit chat feature — every other part of the App works without it.
We send only what is described above. We do not send your email address, journal entries or family members' details to the AI provider. Processing is governed by OpenRouter's Privacy Policy.
4. Where Your Data Is Stored
- Your profile, birth details, chat history, journal entries and saved people are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, in Google's asia-south1 (Mumbai) region.
- Our backend services run on Google Cloud Run, also in asia-south1.
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest by Google Cloud.
- Access is scoped per account by security rules: signed in as you, only your own records are readable. Your subscription tier and usage counters are written only by our server, never by the App.
- AI processing (section 3) may occur outside India, on infrastructure operated by OpenRouter and its model providers.
5. Third-Party Services
We do not sell your data to any third party, and we do not use it to train AI models.
6. Permissions We Request
- Location (approximate or precise) — to compute Panchanga and Hora for your current location. Optional; decline and we use your birth place instead.
- Notifications — to deliver daily insights and muhurta reminders you have enabled. Optional.
- Internet — required, as charts and AI answers are computed on our servers.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Access: everything we hold about you is visible inside the App — your profile, chart, chat history and journal.
- Correction: edit your birth details at any time from Profile; the chart recomputes.
- Delete your conversations: Chat → menu → Clear conversation permanently deletes your stored thread.
- Delete your account and all data: use the account deletion page, which lists exactly what is erased and what is retained. You may also email support@divyakarya.in from your registered address. Either way we verify the request is yours before deleting, and complete it within 30 days.
- Withdraw permissions: revoke location or notifications at any time in Android Settings.
- Opt out of analytics: disable analytics collection in the App's settings.
8. Data Retention
- Account data is retained while your account exists.
- Chat history is capped at your most recent 200 messages; older messages age out.
- Deleting your account erases your profile, birth details, chats, journal and saved people.
- Anonymous analytics and crash reports are retained per Google's Firebase defaults and are not linked to your identity after account deletion.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact support@divyakarya.in and we will delete it. Adding a child's birth details under My Family is permitted only by a parent or guardian.
10. Astrological Content Is Not Professional Advice
Readings, remedies and AI Pandit answers are offered for reflection and cultural or spiritual interest. They are not medical, legal, financial or psychological advice, and should not replace a qualified professional. AI-generated answers may be inaccurate.
11. GDPR & Indian Law Compliance
We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Economic Area, and with India's Information Technology Act, 2000 (as amended), the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
- Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you (delivering the service you signed up for) and your consent (location, notifications, AI processing).
- Your rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Write to support@divyakarya.in.
- Withdrawing consent: you may withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect processing already carried out.
- Grievance Officer: reachable at support@divyakarya.in, Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
12. Data Breach Notification
If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify affected users and the relevant authority without undue delay, and within 72 hours where GDPR requires it.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be announced in the App, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the revised Policy.
